Built for the Bottom End: Protecting Your Aguilar DB810 on the Road
When you’re hauling around a beast like the Aguilar DB810, you’re not just transporting gear — you’re moving the backbone of your live sound. This large bass cabinet speaker is a sonic freight train designed for concert touring and live events. But here’s the catch: it’s heavy, awkward, and just asking to take a hit in transit. That’s where we come in.
Introducing the Armor road case custom-built for the Aguilar DB810. Whether you’re a touring bassist, backline tech, or a production manager tired of duct tape “solutions,” this transport case is here to make your life easier. It fits one Aguilar DB810 snugly — like a burrito in foil — and it’s designed with some clever features to keep both the cabinet and your back in good shape. Got a similar-sized cab from Ampeg, Ashdown, or Bergantino? It might fit with minor tweaks, but let’s chat first.
Materials Matter (No, Really)
Let’s talk guts. The case is crafted from 9mm WBP birch veneer laminated plywood — that’s Weather and Boil Proof, not just marketing fluff. We use birch veneers bonded with phenolic resin glue, making the panels incredibly resistant to moisture, heat, and whatever surprises the road throws at you (including your drummer’s spilled coffee).
But it’s not just about the wood. Armor’s cases are CNC machine-cut to millimeter precision — because “close enough” doesn’t cut it when you’re protecting a four-figure speaker cab. Every panel, extrusion, and hinge is shaped and prepped with accuracy, then assembled by trained pros who’ve seen (and built) it all. We follow a standardised QC process because we like our cases like we like our bass lines — solid, tight, and dependable.
Functionality First (and Maybe a Little Flash)
This isn’t just a box. It’s a performance tool. The case features a slam lid at the bottom of the base, giving you access to the back of the amp without having to lift the entire unit out. It’s designed so that the cab can be operated inside the case, reducing the setup fuss and minimizing the risk of pulling a muscle before soundcheck. When you’re dealing with something that’s nearly 60kg and over a meter tall, this matters. A lot.
The case includes a combination of Penn Elcom hardware and Armor’s premium fittings, plus 2mm heavy-duty corner and edge extrusions to keep knocks and drops from turning into horror stories. Touring is tough — this case is tougher.
