ROAD CASE FOR DUAL ELECTROVOICE (EV) ELX200 SPEAKERS WITH LIFT-OFF LID

Designed for Two Electro-Voice ELX200 Speakers

This transport case is designed to protect two Electro-Voice ELX200 speakers used in concert touring, live events and professional stage audio. It gives audio hire companies, venues, production crews and touring teams a practical way to move and store a matched speaker pair in one dedicated road case. The case measures 890W × 590D × 844.1H mm and has a net weight of 47.9 kg.

The design is built around the Electro-Voice ELX200 speaker, but similar speaker models from other brands may suit a related case layout after slight adjustment. Cabinet size, handle position, grille shape, feet and connector placement can all affect the final fit.

Built and Finished for Touring Use

The exterior panels are made from 12mm WBP birch veneer laminated plywood. Weather and Boil Proof plywood is made from thin layers of premium hardwood bonded with strong adhesive, giving the panels good resistance to moisture, weather changes and regular transport conditions. Armor’s WBP plywood uses birch veneers bonded with phenolic resin glue, helping the finished case handle regular movement between trucks, venues, warehouses and backstage areas.

Inside the case, EVA foam is used to help protect the Electro-Voice ELX200 speakers during transport. The foam provides cushioning and helps reduce movement within the case, supporting the speakers against knocks, vibration and general handling during loading, unloading and transit.

The case is fitted with 2mm heavy duty corner and edge extrusions together with genuine Penn Elcom hardware. These parts help protect the edges, corners and hardware points that usually take the most contact during transport. All panels and hardware positions are precision cut using CNC machinery to maintain accurate sizing, clean alignment and consistent fit.

After machining, the case is assembled by trained and experienced workers who understand how road cases are handled in live production environments. The finished case then goes through a standard QC process covering lid fit, hardware operation, panel alignment, finish and overall build quality. The aim is to deliver a case that is ready for regular event use without needing adjustments before the first job.

Lift Off Lid, Shallow Base and Stackable Storage

The key feature of this Electro-Voice ELX200 road case is the lift off lid with a shallow base. Once the lid is removed, both speakers are easier to access, load and remove. This makes the case practical for fast setup and pack-down, especially when crews are moving equipment through venues, trucks and storage areas.

The shallow base reduces awkward lifting angles and makes the storage process more straightforward. Instead of reaching deep into a tall case, the crew can handle the speakers from a more comfortable position. It is a simple design detail, but it can make a noticeable difference when the same speakers are being packed and unpacked regularly.

The case is also stackable, which helps with truck packing and warehouse storage. When multiple speaker cases are being moved or stored, stackable sizing helps keep the layout cleaner and more predictable. Optional custom engraving is also available for branding, identification or asset tracking, which is useful when every black road case in the warehouse starts looking like it belongs to everyone and no one at the same time.
