FLYPACK CASE FOR ETC IONXE20 WITH BUILT IN PDU, PATCH PANEL, LED LIGHT, ADJUSTABLE MONITOR STAND

Designed for the ETC Ion Xe20 Console

This transport case is designed for one ETC Ion Xe20 lighting control console used in concert touring and live event production. It works as a flypack lighting console road case, protecting the console during transport while also creating a usable control position once opened. 

The design is built around the ETC Ion Xe20, but similar lighting control consoles may suit a related layout after adjustment. Console size, keyboard position, connector placement, power requirements and accessory storage needs can all affect the final fit. Lighting control systems always look neat in theory, right up until the power, data, keyboard and spare adapters need somewhere sensible to live.

Built and Finished for Touring Use

This case uses 7mm plastic flight panels with a black ABS interior, helping reduce weight while keeping a practical protective structure for touring use. 

The case is fitted with 2mm heavy duty corner and edge extrusions together with genuine Penn Elcom hardware. Corner handles, heavy duty handles and castors help make the case easier to move, lift and position during load-in and pack-down. A label dish is also included for identification, which is useful when several flypacks are travelling together and nobody wants to play a guessing game at show call.

All panels, tray openings, rack spaces and hardware positions are precision cut using CNC machinery to maintain accurate sizing and clean alignment. After machining, the case is assembled by trained and experienced workers who understand how lighting console cases are used on site. The finished case then goes through a standard QC process covering lid fit, hardware operation, tray movement, castor function, panel alignment and overall build quality.

Flypack Layout with Power, Patching and Storage

The key feature of this ETC Ion Xe20 road case is the flypack lighting console layout. It is designed to support operation as well as transport, helping crews reduce setup time while keeping the console protected and organized. The built-in 1U 6-way PDU provides convenient power distribution inside the case, so power management becomes part of the case design rather than an afterthought.

The 1U patch panel with Type D connectors provides a cleaner connection point for data and control cabling. This helps reduce loose cable runs and makes the setup easier to repeat from show to show. For touring and event crews, a predictable patching layout can save time and reduce small mistakes during busy setups.

A dimmable LED light is included to illuminate the console area in darker control positions. This is useful during programming, operation and troubleshooting, especially when the room lighting is not being very friendly.

The pull-out keyboard tray provides a dedicated typing position at the front of the case, giving the operator a more comfortable workspace without taking over the main console area. At the rear, the dog box adds useful storage for cables, adapters and small accessories. Together with the accessory drawer and compartment, the case helps keep the complete Ion Xe20 control setup organized, protected and ready for regular live event use.
