This flight case has been purpose-built to protect one DiGiCo SD9 audio mixer throughout the demands of concert touring, live events, theatres and production environments.

The case features a practical two-part design with an integrated dogbox, allowing the mixer and its accessories to travel together in one organized transport solution. The dedicated accessory compartment provides convenient storage for cables, power supplies and other frequently used equipment, helping reduce the number of separate cases travelling with your production. While this case has been designed specifically for the DiGiCo SD9, many audio mixers with comparable dimensions from other manufacturers may also be accommodated with minor modifications to the internal foam layout.

Built With Precision From Start to Finish

The main structure is manufactured from premium 12mm Weather and Boil Proof (WBP) birch veneer laminated plywood. Constructed from multiple layers of quality birch veneers bonded using phenolic resin glue, this material delivers excellent strength while resisting moisture, changing temperatures and demanding touring conditions. It is selected because it continues performing reliably through years of professional use.

Strength extends beyond the panels themselves. Reinforced 30mm aluminium extrusions, heavy duty 2mm edge and corner extrusions, steel ball corners and premium Penn Elcom hardware work together to create a rigid and dependable transport case. Every latch, handle and structural component is selected to perform consistently even when equipment spends more time on the road than in storage.

Manufacturing quality begins long before assembly. Each panel is accurately cut using CNC machinery to maintain consistent dimensions and precise fitting. The individual components are then assembled by experienced technicians who pay close attention to alignment, hardware installation and overall finish. Throughout production, the case passes through a structured quality control process to verify that every component operates correctly before leaving our workshop. The result is a transport case that delivers dependable protection without unnecessary surprises later on.

Practical Features for Professional Touring

Every feature has been chosen with real-world production work in mind. The custom EVA 38 foam blocks securely support the DiGiCo SD9 while helping absorb vibration and reducing movement during transportation. This protective interior helps safeguard sensitive controls and surfaces whether travelling across town or across the country.

Handling is made easier with large recessed handles positioned around the case, complemented by slim recessed handles that provide additional lifting flexibility whenever multiple crew members are involved. Large butterfly latches secure the lid firmly while remaining quick to operate during fast load-ins and pack-downs. A recessed label dish makes identification straightforward, which is always appreciated when several similar road cases arrive backstage together.

The integrated dogbox is one of the standout functional features. Instead of searching through multiple storage cases for cables and accessories, commonly used equipment remains organized within the same transport solution. That means less time hunting for adapters and more time getting the show ready.
