Its carefully planned three-part construction allows the mixer to remain secure during transport while making setup quick and straightforward once you arrive on site. Although this case has been engineered around the Yamaha DM7 Compact, other digital mixing consoles with similar external dimensions may also be accommodated with minor internal foam modifications.

Built for Years of Professional Use

The case is manufactured using premium 9mm Weather and Boil Proof (WBP) birch veneer laminated plywood. WBP plywood is produced from multiple layers of premium birch veneers bonded with durable phenolic resin adhesive, creating a strong panel that resists moisture, changing weather conditions and temperature fluctuations. This combination delivers excellent structural strength while remaining suitable for the demanding environments found in professional touring and event production.

The durable construction continues with reinforced 30mm aluminum extrusions, heavy duty 2mm edge and corner extrusions, steel ball corners and genuine Penn Elcom hardware. Together these components create a rigid structure capable of handling the constant loading, unloading and transport that professional road cases experience throughout their working life.

Every panel is precision cut using CNC machinery to ensure consistent dimensions and accurate assembly. Skilled technicians then assemble each case with close attention to detail before it progresses through a structured quality control process. Hardware operation, alignment, fit and finish are all carefully checked to ensure every completed case meets the same high manufacturing standard while maintaining reliable performance in the field.

Designed Around Real-World Workflows

The custom EVA 38 foam interior securely supports the Yamaha DM7 Compact while reducing movement and absorbing vibration during transport. An integrated dog box with a hinged lid provides dedicated storage for cables, power supplies and commonly used accessories, helping keep everything organized in one location. Better still, the dog box has been designed to allow cables to access the rear of the mixer, making setup cleaner and reducing unnecessary cable routing.

The built-in 2U rack adds another level of convenience by allowing compatible rack equipment to travel alongside the console. This creates a compact production package that reduces the number of separate cases required for each event.

The innovative three-part design makes access particularly straightforward. Two wooden support feet allow the case to rest securely on its side, while the removable front and top lids expose the mixer on its base. Two slim recessed handles on the base allow easy positioning during setup, so there’s less time wrestling with road cases and more time focusing on soundcheck.

Transporting the case is equally practical thanks to four heavy duty 100mm castors, including two braked wheels for added stability when stationary. The full 18mm castor board distributes weight evenly, while ten large recessed handles and two corner handles on the lid provide multiple lifting points for production crews. Ten large butterfly latches securely fasten each section during transit, and the recessed label dish makes identification quick when several cases arrive backstage looking almost identical. Because let’s face it—every black flight case insists it’s the important one.
