Designed for Mobile Video Production
The WS-FP2 Flypack II Video Production Workstation is designed for professionals working in concert touring, live events, broadcast support, streaming and studio production. Video production can change quickly from one job to the next, so this workstation gives crews a single mobile platform for monitors, rack equipment, peripherals and control gear. Instead of building a temporary control area from loose cases and wishful thinking, the WS-FP2 opens into a practical working setup.
This model is best suited to flexible video production layouts where the user wants a plain flat foam surface rather than dedicated device cutouts. It has a usable platform depth of 388.8 mm and a front-to-rear rack strip distance of 478.6 mm. Similar production control systems may suit this layout after adjustment, depending on console depth, rack equipment, monitor size and cable access requirements.
Built and Finished for Touring Use
The exterior panels are made from 12mm WBP birch veneer laminated plywood. Weather and Boil Proof plywood is made from thin layers of premium hardwood bonded with strong adhesive, giving the case good resistance to moisture, weather changes and regular transport conditions. Armor’s WBP plywood uses birch veneers bonded with phenolic resin glue, helping the finished workstation handle movement between trucks, venues, studios and production areas.
The case is fitted with 2mm heavy duty corner and edge extrusions together with genuine Penn Elcom hardware. These parts help protect the high-contact areas that usually receive the most wear during loading, unloading and transport. The case also uses 4 inch PU castor wheels, giving useful ground clearance for larger mobile workstations that need to move across venues, loading docks and temporary production spaces.
All panels, rack openings, lid sections, monitor mount positions and hardware locations are precision cut using CNC machinery. After machining, the case is assembled by trained and experienced workers who understand how video workstation cases are handled in real production environments. The finished case then goes through a standard QC process covering lid fit, rack alignment, castor movement, monitor mounting, hardware function and overall build quality.
Split Lid, Rack Bays and Monitor Support
The key feature of the WS-FP2 is its split lid design. The front lid can be removed separately and attached to the left or right side with extended table legs underneath, creating extra working space for notes, controllers, laptops or small production tools. That extra surface is very helpful when the show plan changes and the table you thought you had has mysteriously become someone else’s table.
The top lid includes VESA mounts for 24 inch monitor screens, along with two integrated monitor arms for additional displays. This allows the workstation to support up to four monitors, helping operators build a compact multi-screen video control position inside one road case.
The rear hatch door is removable for cable management and port access, making it easier to connect equipment without fighting the back of the case. A slide out tray under the case provides space for keyboard, mouse or other peripherals.
The rack layout is also an important difference on this model. The lower section includes two 9RU suspension based rack storage areas, fully damped to reduce vibration and transport shock. The upper section includes two 3RU suspension based rack bays under the monitors, useful for equipment such as monitoring units or compact rack components. This makes the WS-FP2 a strong option for crews that need rack flexibility under the screen area without requiring a deeper console platform.

The front lid of the case becomes the additional work table for extra workspace. The top lid of the road case comes with VESA mounts for 24 inch monitors and two additional integrated mounting arms for additional monitors.
