Our new 6U Dual-Lid Foam Suspension Road Case is designed to haul big league moving head lights — the kind of kit that lights up stadiums, touring arenas, and industrial event spaces.

We’ve designed this case with large and heavy moving head stage lights in mind — the kind that demand protection and portability in equal measure. While we can’t list the exact brand and model (our clients like a bit of mystery), this case is ideal for popular high-output models from the likes of Robe, Clay Paky, Martin, and similar big-body fixtures. Need to tweak the foam layout? No problem — we can customise the interior to suit most major brands with minor mods. It’s a six-unit case, so you’re good to go with a half-dozen fixtures at a time.

This isn’t just any plywood — it’s 9MM WBP birch veneer, laminated and bonded with phenolic resin glue. That means it’s not afraid of a little rain, heat, or that sketchy venue loading dock in regional Queensland. Our WBP (Weather and Boil Proof) birch veneer is built for punishment and made to last through years of touring chaos.

And how is it made? With the same care and consistency we apply to every Armor case: all parts are precision-cut using CNC machines for millimetre-perfect fits. Our seasoned crew (some of whom could probably build a case blindfolded) assemble each unit by hand, backed by a standardised QC process that doesn’t let anything slip through the cracks. So while this blog may sound fun, we take quality very seriously.

The 6U rack height (267.5mm) and 460mm front-to-back internal clearance make this a solid fit for lighting gear, rack-mount power systems, or touring control units. It includes high-quality Penn Elcom R1194-1U trays, and the outer shell is reinforced with 2MM heavy-duty extrusions. You’ll also find a mix of Penn Elcom and Armor’s own premium hardware, because when you’re on the road, your case shouldn’t be the weakest link.
