EPE foam is capable of withstanding deformations in a repetitive way and still manages to maintain its cushioning ability and dimensions. Expanded Polyethylene is extremely versatile as it is easily shaped, formed, routed, and cut to size in the same way as Kaizen Foam. It is dust-free (does not powder), is non-abrasive, is inert, and resistant to fuels and oils. This EPE plank foam is semi-rigid, yet flexible and pliable.
It is widely used in tool storage, and as inserts in Pelican and Road cases. It is also used in some of our gym floor mats and foam gym equipment.
The product is used for thermal insulation too, having a high thermal resistance of 0.033W/m.k. Its closed-cell structure is moisture-resistant.
Compared to EVA foam, EPE is less durable, not as resilient but with better thermal properties. It also does a better job of absorbing impact. As a result, EPE and EVA foam have different applications in road cases as well as other products.
Armor Road Cases stock EPE 30 foam sheet of 2X1M, and comes in different thickness. We offer CNC 2D cutting and 3D routing service. Please feel free to contact us if you need them to be cut to size, or you want to design foam insert for your road or pelican cases.
