This surface-mounted large lid stay is very easy to use compared to those lid stays in recessed dishes because there is no need to cut holes on the plywood panels nor installing piano and butt hinges next to it. It is very sturdy and gets the job done.
We recommend this large surface-mounted lid stay if you are building a road case out of 9mm or 12mm plywood panels. We have put together a list of matching hardware below for your convenience.
This large lid stay is finished in matt chrome, which makes it more expensive than the same one finished in zinc chrome. They are both made of 1.5MM 16 gauge steel so you can choose the chrome version and save some money there.
If you are building a smaller case less than 1000mm long you can choose the medium-sized surface mount lid stay instead.
If you choose to build your road case with matt chrome hardware, the below list can be very helpful in putting together your order.
- Large matt chrome ball corner
- Large matt chrome corner brace
- Medium matt chrome recessed handle
- Medium matt chrome recessed latch
- Large matt chrome lid-stay
And if you are using 12mm plywood, then you can find them below with match extrusions.
- Laminated Plywood Panel 1.22X2.44MM, Thickness 12MM
- Hybrid Extrusion with 12MM Gap
- Single Angled Extrusion 35X35MM
Happy building, and remember to share your finished road case with us via Facebook for a 20% discount on your next order.
